What we do
The Law Center strives to eliminate systemic barriers to medical and dental care so that marginalized populations can access the prompt, effective care they need to thrive. To do so, we bring high-impact lawsuits to compel states to provide care as mandated by federal law – through such means as increasing payment rates, expanding eligibility, and improving outreach efforts. Through this work, we have been successful in significantly increasing Medicaid enrollment and payment rates in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Oklahoma, and are now working to do the same in Florida.
As result of our work, the Law Center, led in this practice area by senior attorney Jim Eiseman, has developed a nationally-recognized expertise in healthcare access law and policy. We are excited to collaborate with and provide support to private law firms, medical and dental associations, and health advocacy organizations around the country to dismantle these barriers on a system-wide level and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected.
